If phones and internet die tomorrow?

Close your eyes for a second and imagine a world without your phone? Can you?

A world without mobile phone

Where you have to run miles to buy things you need.. Where you have to wait for hours in the queue to book movie/train tickets…
Where you have to rely on recipes from cookery books bought from railway platforms…
Where all you have is TV for entertainment purposes…

And there are lots.

By now, you should be thinking whether your whole life is dependent on your phone and the internet. Sadly, it is.
We created all this for our convenience yet we fall prey to the luxury it brought along.

What did we lose?
However, there is a parallel world that lies on the other side which we have left unexplored as we were busy Netflixing.

We forgot what it is like to wake up to the sound of nature or at least to the sound of the traditional alarm clock.

And we forgot what it would be like to sleep gazing at the stars while chit-chatting with our family members in the terrace.
These are simple and pure pleasure that our gadgets cannot provide.

How would our world be without phone and internet?

From waking up to going to bed, everything would need manual effort. For instance, we have to get down on the street to get an auto.

We will rely on TV and newspapers to find out what’s happening around the world.

Speaking of which, reading will become our primary hobby and we will start investing in paperback books and magazines.

We will start forming strong bonds with people around us and start realizing what actual closeness means.
We will wait for hours for the music channel to play our favorite songs.
Shopping complexes and supermarkets will see a surge in their business as an online business will be no longer a thing.

Bachelor’s kitchens would see some cooking as they can’t order in food.
We will start spending our evenings and weekends with our family members and won’t be glued to the sofa anymore.
As we don’t have family WhatsApp groups, we will start visiting our relatives frequently which again ensures family bonding.

And we will start creating more memories than mere photos and selfies that cannot depict the real emotions behind them.

Okay. This might be a little overboard for the casual millennial generation. But isn’t this how our parents and grandparents led their life?

Frankly speaking, I would openly welcome this new world full of changes and positivity with a broad smile.

And I hope you would too…
